SEO & AEO

Visible on Google — and in the AI's answers.

Classic SEO lifts you on Google. AEO puts you where more and more people search: inside the answers of ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini. We build both at once — visibility that still counts tomorrow. AEO, GEO, LLMO — the names change, the task stays the same: your page has to work as an answer, not only as a result. That is decided in three places — what stands in the source code, how it is marked up, and whether the statements can be checked.

What we deliver

  • Technical & on-page SEO
  • Visibility in AI answer engines (AEO/GEO)
  • Topic clusters & internal linking
  • Local visibility via Google Business
  • robots.txt for AI crawlers decided line by line
  • Structured data (Schema.org) for answer engines

What you get out of it

Visibility is shifting — you should be in both places

Your customers no longer search only on Google — they have AI systems hand them answers directly. Anyone who only optimises the classic way never gets mentioned on that second level. We make sure you show up in both places — today in the Google results, tomorrow in the AI answer itself. The difference from a results list is room. Ten blue links give ten providers a chance; a generated answer often names one or two. Anyone missing from it is missing entirely — nobody hands out a click on position 8 any more, because there is no list in which position 8 exists.

Numbers and sources

Half of all internet users use AI chats at least occasionally instead of a search engine.

Among 16- to 29-year-olds it is two thirds. That shifts the question: it is no longer enough to appear in a results list — you have to appear in an answer, and there is usually only one recommendation there rather than ten results. Both together are the job; classic search engine optimisation alone now covers only one half.

How we work

01

Audit & opportunity analysis

We check your technical foundation, rankings and content, and at the same time test whether and how ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini already mention you today. From that we work out where the leverage is greatest.

02

Build the technology & content

We fix technical bottlenecks, structure your site into clear topic clusters and link it internally in a meaningful way. We write content so that it serves as a clean source for both Google and AI systems.

03

Measure, refine, expand

We track rankings, local visibility via Google Business and mentions in AI answers. What works, we expand; what falls short, we rework in a targeted way.

04

Steer AI crawlers deliberately

We decide the robots.txt line by line with you instead of copying a template. Training access and search access are two different decisions, and most files blur them together.

05

Questions instead of keywords

We collect the questions your customers actually ask — from enquiries, phone calls, Search Console — and write one answer per question that can stand on its own. A paragraph that stays comprehensible without the page around it can be quoted.

06

Build in figures with a source

Answer engines lean on what can be verified. We replace claims with figures that carry a named source and a date — and leave out what cannot be substantiated, rather than phrasing it vaguely.

You get found where your customers search today — in the Google results and, increasingly, in the answers of the AI systems too.

Common questions

What exactly is the difference between SEO and AEO?

SEO lifts your site up the Google results. AEO (Answer Engine Optimization) makes AI systems like ChatGPT or Perplexity draw on you as a source in the answers they generate. We work on both in parallel, because both build on clean structure and clear content.

Can you guarantee I'll reach position 1 on Google?

No — no one can promise that credibly, because Google and the AI systems control their own ranking. We deliver solid, clean work to the criteria these systems reward, and transparent reports so you can follow the progress.

How long until I see something?

Technical improvements and local visibility via Google Business often take effect within a few weeks. Content rankings and mentions in AI answers usually take longer, because both systems build trust over time. We'll tell you honestly what to expect and on what timeline.

What is AEO — and how does it differ from GEO and LLMO?

Three names for the same task with different emphasis. AEO (answer engine optimisation) asks: does this text work as an answer? GEO (generative engine optimisation) asks: is it drawn on when an answer is generated? LLMO means the same thing from the language model's point of view. In practice all three come down to the same moves — a question, a clear answer directly below it, verifiable figures with a source, clean markup, and pages that stay readable without JavaScript. Writing for answer engines almost always means writing better SEO too.

Do I need a separate AEO agency for this?

No — and anyone selling you AEO as a separate product is selling the same work twice. The foundation is identical: technology, structure, clear language, verifiable statements. What genuinely differs is the measurement — rankings here, mentions there — and a few decisions classic SEO never had, such as which AI crawlers you let in. What makes sense is one place responsible for both, because both are decided on the same pages.

Should I block AI crawlers or let them in?

That is not one decision but several — and most robots.txt files blur them. OpenAI separates them explicitly: GPTBot collects content that may be used to train the models; OAI-SearchBot surfaces websites in the search results inside ChatGPT; ChatGPT-User fetches a page when someone is asking about it right then (developers.openai.com/api/docs/bots). Block everything wholesale and you block the visibility with it; allow everything and you also allow the training. We set this line by line with you.

How do I measure whether an AI mentions me at all?

Not by gut feeling. You write down a fixed list of real customer questions, put them to the same systems — ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini — at the same intervals, and record whether your name comes up, in what context, and which source gets linked. The result is not a rank number as with Google but a hit rate over time. The crucial part is not to change the questions: as soon as the question drifts, you are measuring something else and mistaking it for progress.

Why structured data if the answer comes from the text anyway?

Because markup makes the assignment unambiguous. In running text a system has to guess whether a name is a company, a product or a place; in structured data it stands there as a statement — organisation, service, question-and-answer pair, opening hours, price. It replaces neither good text nor substance: a well marked-up page with nothing on it stays an empty page. But with equal content, the page that says in machine-readable form what it is wins.

What does it cost me if my page is only readable with JavaScript?

In the worst case, all visibility in answer engines. Classic search engines now execute scripts to a large extent; the fetches made by answer engines do not do so reliably. Anything that only appears in the text after execution — expanded answers, paragraphs loaded later, content behind tabs — can simply be missing. The honest test takes ten seconds: open the page source and search for the sentence. If it is not in there, it does not exist for those systems.
