Frequently asked questions about our tools

Why we disclose what we work with — and what that means for you.

Why do you publicly list your tools at all?

Because you should know what your business runs on. With most providers, you only find out when you want to switch — and then it turns out the site sits on a system only that one provider can operate. We rely on widely used technology and write down which. That makes us replaceable, and that is exactly the point.

Do I pay extra for these tools?

The licences for our working tools are our business and included in the price. Running costs that are in your name are a different matter: domain, hosting after the first year, purchased images or fonts, ad spend for advertising. We name these items before the contract is signed, instead of handing them in later as “incidentals”.

What happens if one of these tools is discontinued?

That is why we prefer widely used and, where possible, open-source technology: it outlives individual providers. If a service disappears, it gets replaced — your content is stored in common formats and moves with it. A system whose failure would take your website down with it, we would not use in the first place.

Do these tools process my customers' data?

Some do — a contact form processes personal data as soon as someone fills it in. Which service providers are involved is stated in the data processing agreement you receive at no extra charge, including the provider's registered office and the legal basis. Data is held in the EU.

Can I bring my own tools?

As a rule, yes, and it often makes sense — if you have an inventory management or accounting system in use, we build on it instead of putting something new next to it. Where a clean technical connection is not possible, we say so beforehand, instead of building a stopgap that lasts a year.
